- Pavements (including along walls, in gutters, between paving slabs)
- Tree pits
- Parks and public gardens
- Playgrounds
- Car parks
- Road verges
- Land around hospitals and care homes
- Grounds of nurseries, schools, colleges and universities
- Housing estates
- Land around shopping centres
- Around train tracks and train stations
- Sports pitches, playing fields, and bowling greens
- Quays along rivers, canals or the sea
- Beaches
